I am the agency’s first Global Head of its burgeoning Sports Marketing & Sponsorship practice.
In my 20+ years experience, I am credited for being involved in a host of industry ‘firsts’:- helping Korea successfully bid for the first co-hosted FIFA World Cup in 2002; editing the country’s first youth rugby magazine, ‘Tryline’; managing the PR for the Premier League’s first title sponsor, Carling; signing Gillette’s first ‘global face’, David Beckham; and being a senior consultant for P&G’s 2012 Olympic programme, its first corporate brand campaign. I am currently the global lead on HSBC’s golf programme and provide senior counsel on high profile sponsorship campaigns for Aviva, Castrol, Carling, Gillette, M&S and Visa.
I also provide media commentary on the sports industry and am regularly asked to contribute to news programming in national broadcast media such as Sky News, BBC Radio and TalkSport, as well as in national print, online, trade magazines and journals
Prior to H+K I was a Board Director at Golin Harris until February 2003 and worked on Carling’s award-winning association with Premiership football as well as sponsorship and media strategies for blue chip brands such as Worthington, LEGO, Lloyds TSB and Unisys. Previously, I worked at MHP (now part of Bell Pottinger) on Scottish Courage, Halifax Building Society, Hi-Tec Sports, the Young England Rugby Club, and the Rugby Football Union. I started my career at Attenborough Associates working on consumer campaigns for Black and Decker, Johnson and Johnson, and Sterling Health.
I am a media and business studies graduate and was awarded a diploma from the London School of Journalism. I play Kent League football and am a very keen golfer, cricketer and squash player.
