THE TEAM/ROLE
The Issues + Crisis team is a group of talented PR practitioners headed up by Tim Luckett, MD and former journalist on the Mail on Sunday. Tim’s experience has proved invaluable in helping him navigate his team on a number of high profile crises, across a range of industry sectors.
The strength of this team lies in its ability to work seamlessly across the full gambit of H+K Strategies’ clients from Food + Drink, Retail + Leisure, to Technology, Sport and Healthcare. Many of the projects the team work on are amongst the most fascinating, high profile, and confidential in the communications’ industry. This eight people strong team continues to grow successfully, and as a result of client growth and internal promotions, the team is looking for an experienced and talented director to work with Tim to help drive the business forward.

- Has outstanding specialist crisis and issues communications’ skills
- Demonstrates business acumen and broad current affairs knowledge
- Has personal gravitas and confidence, and knowledge to manage and provide expert advice to senior clients
- Has strong senior media relationships and comprehensive understanding of the UK media environment
- Ability to build new and develop existing working relationships with key media, stakeholders and clients in addition to H+K strategies wider sector teams.
- Ability to seek out external communications’ issues and opportunities with clients on a regular basis
- Can manage highly confidential client knowledge
- Has strong and persuasive communication and presentation skills
- Is a clear analytical thinking particularly under pressure
- Skilled in developing and implementing communication strategies and plans with particular emphasis on relevant stakeholder audiences to address and manage such risks
- Ability to work seamlessly with other sector teams to ensure clear and consistent communication to client and external parties
- Commercial acumen with a proven track record of identifying and exploiting new business opportunities
- Develop and implement communication strategies and plans with particular emphasis on relevant stakeholder audiences to address and manage such risks
- Maintain relationships with key media and stakeholders, build new ones regularly and act as a client spokesperson where appropriate
- Identify new business opportunities and work with divisional MD and other practice heads to exploit them
- Act as a representative of the division in relevant specialist forums or network groups and participate where appropriate in relevant speaker platforms
- Line manage, coach and develop the team
- Plan and manage budgets effectively
